Should I buy this board...

Should I buy this board...

Alright let's get my information out of the way, I'm 5'11 165 pounds and I've been surfing for a few months on a foamie. I wanna buy a real board now (plus my buddy that I was borrowing the foamie from wants it back). The break I surf is generally 2-3 feet, but can get some decent size (torrey pines in San Diego).

I went to a surf shop and found a used 7 foot shortboard with some pretty big dings for 135. Good size for me given my experience? I really don't wanna surf with longboards... Can the dings be fixed for relatively cheap? I've been told I'm a fast learner too...

personally i wouldnt go for that board, sounds like a bit of a big wave board. id go for somethin like a funboard rather tha a shortboard as well. and those dings might not be watertight that would need checking.

go to that shop in oceanside, it's not all that far away, rent the board and see how you like it. If you surf that often, it size shouldn't be your biggest issue, get that if you want it'll be fine, or get something like a seven foot funboard and those are fine tool. Just talk to the guys at the shop, they'll be sure to help out.
