Nipple Rash?

Anyone else get this? Got a serious case of it last week after being in the water for a while! Will Vaseline help? If not I'm getting my nipped surgically removed, no need for them and I'm not going through that everytime I head out into the water!

If you are surfing without a top then a rash vest would be a help either by itself or a rash vest can help under your wetsuit.

We had some guy a while back trolling a nipple guard, surf patrol might beable to dig him up.

As for the Vaseline , not a good idea no matter what the rub!

If you put it on your nipples and you are riding in skin you are going to have a slippery surface right out to where your hands go for pop up, slip = face plant if you successfully get up next trick will to step on the Vaseline at a critical point on the wave ( send videos please, )

If it is under your wetsuit it will quickly perish the wetsuit.

Your nipples will toughen up, nick the nipple off. Hmmmmmmmm!

Having a rash vest is your best option, you need to rinse it after each surf and you can get titanium lined ones which increase the heat retention of your wetsuit.

All said almost everyone goes through the cripple nipple phase!

Very funny post! I like the face plant bit! Most lol! It's from wetsuit rub and I've actually got Scabs on my nipples right now!
Ok, going to give the rash vest IDEa a go as I can't handle another day like that!

Any recommendations on brands? Are there different styles for different sports? Titanium is a must to stop nipple rub? Also do they come in high necks to stop rub from wetsuit on the neck?

Here some more of the answers you're craving for!
Get a surfing brand, they usually suit the suit, no titanium is not necessary to prevent rash, just warmth the rashies are great in tropical surf as they also act as a sunscreen. One tip and not the ones you are talking about, make sure the rashie doesn't bunch in your armpits another area of potential rash (which makes the upper half look like the upper half of a Sumo wrestler as he walks!).

There is a thread somewhere on this site asking what people wear under their wetsuit, me = speedos for the lower and a long sleeve titanium rashie up top the neck is high enough to pull out of the wetsuit collar and so no scrape.
BTW watch how you do the velcro tag on the neck up if it is misaligned and protrudes over the top of the wetsuit neck you get a very quick abrasion in a very short time!

Yeah but the difference between me and her is I wouldnt have people breaking down my door to treat the rash!
