BIC dents, do I need to fix?

I just bought a BIC 7'9" and as soon as I rested against the car to wax it the wind dropped it.
Now I have some scratches but also I noticed a lot of small dents on one of the rails. Feels like the plastic is not attached to the foam under them , like it's empty - should I worry about delamination?
Should I fix these dents? I bought the BIC assuming it can take abuse and I don't have time to baby it.
Also, I don't know if the dents were there before the damage and it's just the way these boards are manufactured.

From the sight of your pics
we'll know how to fix.
You've probably found
that to wax on the ground
is the practice that's sound.
Most BICs are tough
but your practice was rough :!:

The damage may be done but don't take a fright,

Did you buy it new or second hand :?:

Did you look at the board thoroughly before you handed over your cash :?:

Even the best manufacturing sometimes pops out a faulty board, but second hand "Caveat Emptor"

Hard to see unless the light strikes just right. I marked the two largest dents, half to 3/4 inches in length and 1 to 2 mm in depth, the line is a scratch that seems deepish but hasn't penetrated beyond the plastic.
Board was bought new from a surf shop.

It' still hard to see what the real damage is, but if the skin is not punctured and the soft area under the dents is not too great I wouldn't worry :!:

Just be a little aware of how you treat your boards you don't have to "baby" any board but just awareness of what you are doing with several hundred dollars worth of thing is a good way to save money.

Dings happen and need fixing, dents not so much, you will get heel dents, and assorted others, splits and cracks, fix ASAP.

thanks, I looked again in the light of day.
The area that got scuffed is on the opposite side of the area with the dents, wondering if the strain caused the foam to compress and shift...composite mechanics is not my strength, pun intended.
Or they could have been there all along.

Just keep an eye on it. If there's a crack through to the foam you'll need it water tight, but I have a BIC that's been slammed, dropped, thrown, and abused for the last 7 years and has loads of dents like the one you mentioned. Still surf's the same as the day I got it (...like a brick). Should be fine.

thanks, now I'm thinking I could have cause the dents because I was wearing my G-shock , and they are on the left side. Just to be safe I won't be wearing it anymore, which sucks because I park in a metered area.

Wear your watch, you can't kill a BIC. Mine has survived more abuse than any watch could deliver. I have a mate who had to crash a car to kill his.

How do you smack a watch into the side of a surfboard when you paddle if you have the face on the outside of your wrist?
You will probably need several new watches before you repair your BIC.
