Moving to Morro/Pismo California

Moving to Morro/Pismo California

Postby JPdos » Thu Sep 15, 2011 3:14 am

hey guys i am moving to the Morro/Pismo area next month and was wanting to spend my free time surfing (lots of free time). Wondering if you guys had suggestions for any local shapers, how thick the wetsuits are usually, and any good spots for beginners

I'm not local, but I surfed Pismo Beach back in April - water was in the low 50s. I've been checking the reports fairly consistently since then, and based on water temps I'd say you'll definitely want a 4/3 for winter/spring, and probably also a 3/2 for warmer months if you can afford a second suit.

The day I was out there it seemed relatively beginner friendly and not crowded. It was a weekday and the surf wasn't particularly good that day, though, so it may get really crowded.

I'll leave any other comments to people who know the area better than I do.

So it's to Morro next month. This only works if you say it.
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun!
