INTRODUCE YOURSELVES HERE!!!!!!!

Hi, my name is Lisa and i am 25, i have had the odd surfing trip and always enjoy it. I am currently living in chester so difficult to travel to decent beaches. I am moving to york in 2 weeks so looking forward to being closer to a beach.
As i am a beginner i am hoping to get some good advice from all you lovely people on here, maybe gind some york buddies

Hi all
I live near Hossegor in Labenne France, and have been trying to learn to surf for 8 years!!! and I'm still just a straight line surfer !! I get in the water when I can (kids permitting - I have 3). But I work with surfboards now with my husband (a surfer through and through), so no excuses I have to up my game as I rent out performance surfboards now with my husband. Hopefully after I've test driven most of them I should learn something.
Any tips??
I'm ok when it's mushy. It's when it gets hollow I pitch! I'm trying to take off sideways at the moment.

Hello hello! Newbie here :mrgreen:

I've been wanting to learn how to surf for several years now...only until this year, I had the oppurtunity..and I love it! Now if I can pop up and stay up all will be great :thumbs:

female south Jersey. This forum is awesome. I have learned a lot of tips on here and I just joined. I tried yahoo answers and one jerk was so arrogant like he owned the ocean and beginners should stay on the beach. Jerk. Thanks in advance for your help

Welcome Justice, sorry that you met an egotistical jerk early on and unfortunately there are still plenty of those neanderthals out there.
Stick with the journey you are just beginning , have fun :lol:

More girls in the water please it slows down the testosterone type bad manners and is so much more enjoyable. The skills come with the time spend surfing, remember a bad day surfing is better than a good day at work.

Same wishes to you and a question why doesn't your husband teach you a little more? 8 years be a little self assured and go surfing for your self and demand a little teaching from your husband! Merde :!:

hey im Dave, from venice beach, in between ocean park and the breakwater. had a minor breakthrough this morning, finally got up on my 6'3 superfish, after a few months on a 7'6 funshape. still squirelly but so stoked. anyone else near here?

So weekly trips to the coast mean I have quite a poor skill in the surf but I'm getting there

I joined to learn a bit more about tips and techniques so I'm fully equipped for those days I can get to the beach xx

Hey Dave I'm in So Cal too...Venice is actually where I learned how to surf...I know I know it's not the most ideal place...but wil all the newbies around there...feels like home

Hey all.

I'm Tony, and Southampton based. Love to surf but don't get much chance here on the south coast.

Anyone who's in the area and up for a trip let me know. Usually try to get to Devon or Cornwall every year but will brave the local waters in the winter when the swell picks up.

Anyone interested in having a paddle some time drop me a line.

Hey everyone, i'm Sarah (if thats not obvious from the name!) i'm 21 and live in Manchester so pretty land locked but sooo dying to get back in the water! Got family in York so usually head over to Scarborough/Filey/Whitby etc but i'm yet to find anyone nearby who is into surfing to come along with me... why my friends don't like the thought of going in the sea in the middle of winter i can't imagine! :lol:
