Hmmm I'm not a huge fan of bitter. I suppose all of those suggestions are pretty bitter?

No, that bit was for comedy value, actually.

Chicory is added to cut bitterness, in fact. The Belize coffee is a bit bitter, the rest of them (except the Chock Full O' Nuts, which just tastes good) are all stout, though.

If you can get hold of some Tanzanian Peaberry, that stuff is amazing. Like the Blue Mountain, it's a bit pricey.

Generally, I drink the Community Coffee through the week, and save the Blue Mountain or whatever other high priced coffee I might have for Sunday morning, with the Sunday paper, and time to enjoy it, rather than gulp it down while rushing around getting ready for work.

i used to drink coffee to keep me awake, but as i think through it. it was just a waste of my money drinking each day as like my life depends on it.

tea, water and some good snack is all i need.

I send irregular care packages to a German located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The care packages contain Peet's coffee which originated in Berkeley, California. The German worked in Irvine, California for a couple years a good while back. He is simply nuts over Peet's. So, I send him some every now and then.

I dont know if you can get these brands over there in the USA but there are plenty of good brands down here in Mexico you could try.
There is Marino cofee which has a special blend and i specially love the special toasted version. There are also several other brands that use cofee from the mountains of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Veracruz.
Very good and also very cheap.
I am a hardcore coffee fan.

Not a coffee drinker really, but Blue Mountain Jamaican i can drink! As Sykes said though - super pricey.
Another coffee i'd recommend is Guatemala Elephant. Don't drink it but, working at Whittard, i hardly see it on the shelves it's so damn popular (with the boss as well, and he's really hard to please!)
Oh and Old Brown Java smells SO yum. It's an aged coffee so they bury it for sometimes up to seven years so it's a little different to regular stuff.
Also, Pico Duarte smells really good. I think i liked that when i tried it too. Just come to Whittard - we do good coffee! (The only one in the US is in Boston i think...)

All I drink is either Kona coffee shipped directly from Kona, Hawaii or else I go to starbucks and get the Italian bold roast ground to a number 5. I also enjoy Guatamalan(sp?) coffee, and english breakfast tea.

Could be that it's not, but my taste deserves better.

I use both Kona Gold and fair trade Ethiopian Mocha for an espresso blend.
When I feel like heart palpitations I drink Indonesian Kopi Jawa. Boombiddiboombiddiboom!
I haven't tried Kopi Lowak as unless I saw the collection of the civet poo covered beans :shock:

free style in the jungle, I wouldn't trust that the beans hadn't been produced by cruelly caging civets.
The cost too would smash my wallet!

I drink my coffee black with no sugar but an italian friend use to make this sensational coffee. She'd set up an espresso pot on the stove then fill a mug with a heap of brown sugar or dumera sugar. Then when the espresso pot started boiling and the first bit of the coffee had risen up into the pot, she'd grab it and tip a little bit into the sugar. Replaced pot to stove to finish boiling and would whisk the sugar with a spoon until it had formed a paste like substance. One big spoonful of the sugar paste into a glass and pour the rest of the coffee over it. The sugar would form a head on the drink and voila. It looked like a mini glass of guiness if done right but was sweet and strong.I'd always want two then spend the rest of the night gibbering and grinding teeth but was worth it

I drink more coffee in winter since it is cold during that season. Usually I like Irish Cream coffee.

I like coffee and drink it occasionally, though not with any regularity. When I do drink it, I usually stick to just one -- not as a matter of discipline, rather that's all I can handle.

Errm, I have started drinking (Nescafe) coffee in work just because it's there . . . . on reading this post I have thought about it and it has no effect on me as regards the caffeine rush nor the desire to always have one !

As an ex professional scientist . . . . .

[ now in in operations process management ( and a recently qualified swimming pool / spa / hot tub technician – four exams and a 21hr day; recently insured with my own company !) ]

. . . . . . I conclude any coffee addictions truly are all in the mind; it just tastes nice, when I am able to grab time to make one!

Mmm: having said the above – I don’t know if I am drinking decaf or not :shock:
