Re: Take off

,,hey alex, it's called pearling. it happens when you are either too far forward on your board, or you aren't lined up correctly on a steep wave. I don't know how your 6.2 is shaped, but if it's a standard shortboard i recommend simply arching your back. that should shift your weight enough aft to pull the nose up. if that doesn't work then move back on the board. also, leaning to one side and angling the board down the line will buy you some time.
as far as when to stand up: you could ride the whole wave on your belly if you're balanced correctly on your board; but if you stand up too early you'll miss the ride. You'll learn to feel when the time is right, but until then error on the late side. if you feel like you're in the wave, take two more strokes before you stand up.
how much you need to turn depends on the wave. some require an aggressive angle, some don't.
hope that helps''
Yeah Bro, it is a great help, because I never arched my back, and always paddled into the wave straight, and didn't care with the angle. Just one more question. What do you think, which stand up is better, the quick pop up, or the knee pulling? I'm always using the knee pulling, cuz it's slower and give me some comfortable when I'm balancing, but I'm not sure that this is the right way on a shortboard.
Thanks
