moving to cornwall

hi all. thinking of moving to cornwall soon. thing is i dont know anyone there. im 25 and live in the midlands. im worried about finding a decent place to rent ( house share), get a job ( im a carpenter) but any job would be cool to start off with, bar work etc. and my biggest worry is not knowing anyone! any tips or advice would be greatly appriciated, cheers!

good on you Neil, i moved down here when i was 28, i moved down from Leamington spa, best move i ever made. just move to one of the main towns, i landed in st,Ives, you will soon find people like yourself (just down for a laugh) pal up, rent a house between you, plenty of seasonal work down here. why not set up on a campsite for a month or so, look around for a job and a room then. Newquay would be a good start, or st,Ives. Ive been here 17 years, surfing working and chilling, its a good life choice mate.

wow, sound advice, cheers. ill,be moving from stratford upon avon, just down the road from leam. its such a scary propersition to get my head round. sounds like a good idea. i was thinking newquay as there seems to be quite a young crowd about. could set up on one of the campsites for a while, find a job and a house to rent with some other like minded lads. best move you ever made?? surfing, working and chilling sounds like the perfect lifestyle to me. i might make a few trips down soon to check out whatjobs are about and renting prices etc. thanks a lot for the advice

First try to settle in your job first so that you can settle in a place which is comfortable to you...
