keeping speed in small surf / pumping the wave

Postby RichD14 » Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:55 pm

O.k. so I live in Virginia Beach, I generally ride a 6'3'' rocketfish and I'm nearly 200lbs. Anyone have any advice on keeping speed and pumping in your average 3-4 foot stuff. I know it's possible I've seen other people my weight get some crazy rides, but I keep getting one or two turns in and losing momentum

Watch the video called 'Small Wave Riding'

http://www.surfcoach.com/free-advanced-videos/

The most important tips from this is are throwing your arms forward, and surfing rail to rail. Wish I could surf like the guys in this vid.....
