saunton surfing question

Ok .. i was just wandering if it is possible to surf saunton on a shortboard because i am going down in the spring and ive never been and all i ever hear is that its a longboarders wet dream and i was just wanderin if anyone surfs it on a shortboard

Ive surfed it thousands of times on a shortboard. No problem.

the problem with shortboarding it is dont expect to get the pick of the best waves.

I surfed it once on a shortboard and it was rubbish. Looked nice and lined up but no power and very slow wave.
Obviously that was just one day and things change, but personally I'd go eleswhere as there are better shortboard options nearby.

depends on the size of the waves/wave period but u need a decent sized wave to get a shorty going at saunton
