I bought a 9-8 for 285. I'm 6-2 and 230. I've been trying to surf for quite a while on rented boards, thrusters. This board handled pretty nice. Easy to paddle, easy to stand up. Before this, I rode my girlfriends 8-0 (Jacks brand.) Almost impossible to get up. I'm new, so I don't know the difference between this and a "real" board. If you're looking to learn and want your own try this, or Frog House, The Green Room, if your in OC. Russel has some good stuff too, on the Newport pen.

it's easy to paddle and easy to stand up because it's 1 feet and 8inches longer than your 8'' board... thats a lot bigger.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I bought one of these back in June of 08. I surfed a short board as a kid/teen but have not been in the water for about 18 years. I wanted to get back into the sport but was unsure if I would really get into it. My wife will testify that I have a tendency to "get into" sports, buy some gear and then burn out. Ended up getting a 9'8" for around 370$ US, which is obviously really cheap. I figured I was not getting the best board but did not want to spend 500-800$ to find out if I was going to enjoy myself or not.

I bought it on Ebay because I live close to the warehouse that discountwatersports.com has in Irvine, Ca. They have a small corner of this huge warehouse that moves all sorts of products. The boards are obviously shipped in from somewhere else and the only US (maybe Mexican) hands to touch them is the guy that boxes them up.

I have surfed weekly (when there is surf) since June and have been having a great time. The board I bought seems very durable. I have hit it up against all kinds of things like my garage door, the ground, rocks other peoples boards in the water etc. No dings of any sort. Some pressure depressions on the top.

The board is ok in the water. It seems a but slow and sluggish but I am able to catch waves and even nose ride when I am lucky. Due to my limited experience on a long board, I am not really sure how to compare. I do notice that other larger guys, older guys, with shorter boards are catching more waves than I can, which causes me to belive that the board is sluggish.....or I just suck. Either way I am happy with the purchanse because it got me back into a sport that I missed. I am already looking for another board though, most likely a Stewart or Infinity because I think I will get better performance. I will hang on to the Millennial as a second board for friends, when my kids want to learn or if I have a problem with my other board.

Just to sum up my thoughts in many cases surfers that are ocational warriors like a once a month or so then why not its not as if they are gonna progress very quick. But for someone that is gonna surf with some commitement then well........... he he he....

I've got a 9-8 longboard. had it for 9 months or so. Seems good to me. $285 on E-bay, picked it up in Irvine.

this company is out of San Clemente California and i'm extremely new to surfing and i thought it was a good board for me to start on but then again i wouldnt really know

I live in Oceanside and went to local surf shops to buy a longboard to surf with my 12 year old who we bought one of those $100 Costco softboards. I last surfed in the 70's (on a 7'6" Sunset swallowtail). The local surfshops were nice but I couldn't afford a $800-$1000 board at this time. I checked Craigslist and found a new Millennial 10' longboard for $300 with fins and leash (I took out the stock fiberglass fins and am running the Millennial with a single ProTeck performance fin at this time, works well ). My son and I are having a blast, and I'm really glad to be getting back in shape again at 54 yrs old. The Millennial is OK, seems like a pretty good board for me. Anyway, due to my finances, it was either this or no board at all. All in all I have been having a lot of fun on this board, and now that winter is coming I need to save for wetsuits. By the way, the "Wavestorm" surfboard from Costco is a great little learning board for youths.

i too, have been watching these millennial's on e-bay. i have shaped a few boards before and am looking for a ten'two..i couldn't shape and glass one myself for the price, i am sure they are pop outs, but even the cnc cuts need finish sand/shaping to hide the machine marks..they look like they will do for a season..i am going for it with mild expectations, just to add the rhino to my quiver..

when did we all forget what surfin is about? i dont care if you ride a cardboard box, if you can catch and ride and dont cut me up, then hit it man! not everyone can sport a custom hand shaper, so give the kids a break.. half the surfers i know got no money, so whats wrong with a cheap pop out? and i aint sayin it cuz i know anythin about the millenials, just in general... when did we get so stuck up?
