Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Postby stuzzy07 » Mon Mar 30, 2009 3:37 am

I was wondering if anyone else gets any pain in their neck from surfing. I know it's not from paddling. It's from having my head turned to look out the back while my body is facing sideways waiting for waves. Thus it only hurts on one side of my neck. I tried to keep my whole body looking out which works in swells that have defined sets, but when it's wind chop and waves pop up out of now where it's hard to turn around in time. Does this happen to anyone else?

Yep. Occasionally. Now I sometimes take some pain relief prior to going in the water as a preventative measure so I don't stiffen up to much and make it worse.

Yep, down by my shoulders, normal until you get used to it.
