Wetsuit question

I surf here in Hawaii. During the winter season, I wear a wetsuit top. Now, my question is: what exactly is the proper way to wear a wetsuit top with boardshorts? I tuck it over my boardshorts and at times it ends up rolling up but then again when you're out there you don't really care . The wetsuit size isn't a factor either, it feels like a second skin.

Is it a rash vest or neoprene?

Neoprene should be next to your skin, dont tuck it over the shorts.

yeah i make sure the suit is covering my skin always, so usually its underneath
