I'll have to do something about resizing external images to fit the page, should'nt be too much of a problem.

Images posted directly are resized to fit the page so it is only offsite images that have the problem.
You can click on the image to get the full size version,

By posted directly you mean attached/uploaded to your forum? Thats not a good idea from our point of view (photogs).
