hi,
being a bit clumsy, i managed to drop my board on to the corner of a unit in our loft the other day. it was in its bag, but still got damaged.
no pics unfortunately, but basically it got a hole punched in the base about 5-10mm deep and 50mm diameter- its pushed the glass right in and broken through to the foam in places.
whats the best way of repairing this? I am incidentally shaping my first surfboard at the moment anyway so i do have some ISO 7X polyester resin and catalyst although haven`t used it on the new board yet.
i thought if i remove the damaged glass, score the edges with my surform, fill the hole as best i can with spare foam from cutoffs and then glass and resin over, would this do the job?
If not, whats the best approach here?
Thanks,
Mike
