NSP Surfboards

I am looking at a 9'2" NSP surfboard. Does anyone know anything about these boards? I need a board the is best for my size. I am 6'2" 240 lbs. any suggestions.

NSP are like the 2nd rung up the ladder after BIC.

Plastic popouts but floaty and tough, a 9'2" is probably the smalles you shuld be looking at make sure its chunky with it (3"thick, 23 wide etc).

i went out with a 7'6"(epoxy) couple days ago (5'6" 135 pounds)

I got the board to try out and I am going out tomorrow to see how it is. I just got back into surfing about six months ago. Before that I had not been out for 9 years. When I started up againg I bought anouther shortboard (6'6"). I am bigger than I was 9 years ago and I have to find another board.

I've got one - they are fine for second hand board but I wouldn't buy one new personally. They do the job, won't break but don't expect any thrills really and I find them a bit heavy - fine if you don't have too walk far.

I've got that exact board, and I love it. I'm 6'4" and about 200 lbs. I'm a novice though. If I were a better surfer, I might find more fault with it, but it's tough, floaty, and is perfect for the smallish waves that are the norm here in northwest Florida.

I tried the board and it is too much board for me. I'm used to smaller boards. Board is a lot heavier than I thought. Would not want to carry it far.

yes the nsp boards tend to be quite heavy but if ur a beginner ( not sure if u sed u were) but i had an nsp when i started surfing and they are great boards but you cant really do much on them

but 9'2 is rpobably the right size for you or you could get one bigger

What do you want out of the board? I bought one 5 years ago for my kids, just sold it and at best it has a few scratches. They are not the best performance, but man are they indestructible.

Agree with that.....not everyone's choice but good for folk who bash their boards or who surf now and again....or learning. I don;t like mine though but most of that is the due to the weight of it and cos I've moved up a step.

I have a 7'2" NSP funboard. I am 5'10", 185 lbs, and it is really easy to catch almost anything with but is short enough and has enough rocker to handle things when it gets a bit bigger. I don't really find it too heavy, but I don't have a fibreglass board to compare it to. I got mine second-hand for almost nothing, and have no regrets on the purchase!
