car keys?

my wet suit doesn't have a pocket to put car keys in. What does eveyrone else do with their car keys when they're going surfing by themselves? thanks ahead of time.

There should be a pocket in your legrope, if not use a string and tie it round your neck.

I just put my key in a little nifty ledge in my wheel arch! I have a pocket thingy in my wetsuit but I prefer to leave it there coz I don't want the water to wreck the central locking on it. But before I did that I used to bury it under a nearby heavy chunk of seaweed!!!

Hmmm here in Sydney if you put your key in the wheel arch or bury it on the beach you can kiss your car goodbye.

What i would do is get a platic baggy, something more or less water proof.... and put it in that, and then tie it to your wrist... or soemthing.

Look into buying a leash with a pocket. A cheap way to go about it and you don't take the chance of lossing your car

Just a warning to thoese who usually hide their keys.

There have been so many reports over the last year of people targeting surfers, they hang around and watch where people are hiding their keys and onces your in eather go through your car or nick it all together.

Hot spots for this are South Wales, the built up areas of the East coast nd some areas in cornawal. So be awear.

Did u ever try tying the key to the string of your boardshorts? It depends if youre wearing boardshorts though. Theres also some type of bungee cord in my boardshorts pocket and I attach it to that and the pocket is sealed via velcro.

Just get a fine piece of elastic, cut it about 18 inches long, tie a nice knot at the end to join it & slip the car key on it. Wear it around your neck while surfing, I have mine tied short enough so the key sits up above my breast plate under my wetsuit (between my nipples...), I never even know it's there.

For those with flash electronic keys for central locking...you have too much money tied up in your car...sell it and buy more surfboards or invest in some boat trips to the tropics or something

Yes even those cars still can support normal keys, go to the car dealer for your respective marque & get a manual key (read a normal old fashioned one) for your car. You'll have to lock the other doors manually (I'm sure you can do that), and leave the electonic one at home.

Only a munter leaves his key hidden on the car here now too....
