Volcom Discriminates against woman!

In the last 2 years, Volcom has decided that woman surfers over 25 should not be able to compete in their circuit.
They have a division for guys over 25 but not for woman. We have contacted them numerous times and they just coward away by ignoring our attempts to contact them.

What if the Pro-circuit told surfers like Layne Beachly and Rochelle Ballard (both over 30) that they can't compete?

Once again, another surf industry giant has put woman surfers on the back burner.

Please help us to bring Volcom to the 21st century by posting your comments!!!

To think(crazy I know) but every employee at Volcom sat in mommies tummy for approx 9 months!! ha ha (dosent that count for something???),,, So why all the neg B.S. i never really liked volcom to start out with, and this is just dumb. from a marketing perspective i guess it sort of makes sense. get these young, hot surfer chicks out there to get more younger girls to 'want to be like the pros.' but what, just drop them after 25 and make it look like you're only there as a pretty face? but at the same time, i don't know of too many over 25 female surfers, aside from layne and rochelle, that could shred at that level and keep the field competitive

Up until 2 years ago, it was an open division.
I know girls in their 30s that rip harder and are in better shape than the groms eatting pop-tarts for breakfast. I'm not sure what Volcom is afraid of.

I've seen and know a shizz pot of women over 30 able to carve water up crazy like!!!!! and they are hotties too!!!! so this is a B.S move on Volcom's part. Hmmm age?? HA HA just how old is Slater, Curren and the likes??? HA HA ,Hell I'm cosiderd ancient and can still carve up a face so age has nothing to do with it!!!! Skill & Ability,, now were talking truth and if (sex truly sells)(and most hot sex idols are 30 n up) then whats the prob with having the largest selection of client base(customers) of all ages??? what at 30+ sex drive stops? How absurd to think that!!! and stupid for a company to cut their own neck and lose customer $$$$ as well as respect by people like me reducing their client base!!!! HA HA and to think most of the $$$$ out there is coming from people in the 30 and up range who make the $$$$. (As twerked wrote) yes and no see younger people want to imulate the older so why again would you be stupid to rule out older women( you don't see guys wanting to surf as just themselves or copy a grom they want to surf as good or better than the likes of Slater etc.(who is how old?)) What,,, you think it's different for women??? Hmmm Yea right!!! Think not,,,, lil girls wanna be Hanna Montana, the Hanna Montana's wanna be the Jenefer Anistons and the Jenefer anistons wana be the Sophia Loren (sorry if any is misspeled) ya get the point. Allso why in just the last 2 years???? What made this change??? Did somebody tell them that women are over 50% of the work force now?? That they hold a position in every arena possible??? Hell did we not just have a woman trying for a presidential ticket??? (Crazy I know) but their even doctors, laywers,cops,carpenters,astronauts, and even solders now. I know for me If a stand up and scream or total boycot to an injust move like this is not done I would be supporting this very kind of thing and fullfilling an injustice action upon all my female friends as well as my fellow female surfers out there and how dare I ever ask for support or help when an injustice is done to me (men)!!!!! Protecting ones rights is an easy thing to do, You don't ever stand up for your rights, that's my job to protect yours,,,, your job is to stand up and only protect mine that way were allways looking out for each outher wether we like it or not!!!!!!! If you don't stand up for outhers than don't cry when nobody stands up for you!!!!!!!!!! They are on a total boycot list till they wake up and change their ways and will now promote this to all I know!!!!!!!!!! It's not just their act but the principal wich urks me the most,,, stupid very stupid!!!

Thank you for the support! Sadly enough their are some guys on our local forum that side with Volcom and their old fashioned ways. I hope to help Volcom see their mistake and correct it. Thanks again!!

Surf and Real Estate are good down there, plus I'm looking for something more and just can't seem to find it here in the States. There is an innocense in Nica that we just don't have here anymore. I'm sure with time, that will be lost too, but for now I want the simple life. In Nica, I can have it all surf, fishing, freedom of the everyday hustle.
