Recommendations for boots please

Postby greypump » Sat Jul 12, 2008 10:15 am

Hi - could I get some recommendations for some good surfing booties that will do me through some of the colder months in Scotland. Will 5 mm be enough or should I go for 6?

Thanks

5 mill will be fine for sure. just make sure they are a good fit.

If you go to the SW Shop the are reviews on the boots from the customers.

Yep second on the make sure it fits. You might think it fits well when you wear it at the surf shop but the water might leak in all the time, then you try to refund it and they say sorry store policy no refund for used product.

ive got some alder plasma 7mm booties. never been cold in them. they seem pretty well made too. theyve withstood some pretty sharp rocks and some longish walks. not much money either.

try getting something with a split toe... feels a bit weird at first but stops your feet from sliding around inside them..
5mm should easily be enough.

Split toe 5mm Xcels are doin the job for me! I'm still wearing them as its easier than standing on all the stones at the local spot getting in and out of the water. Very comfy, super grippy too.
