Thinking of learning to surf... NS Canada

Postby Big.CP » Wed Apr 16, 2008 12:07 am

Well I am going to be moving to Nova Scotia Canada and I am thinking of learning to surf.

However I was wondering if I am to big to surf? I currently snowboard and I used to skateboard until around 180lbs (started going through decks like a mad man).

I am 6'1" 240lbs, I am not a tub of lard persay I have strong arms and legs I just have a beer belly that is slowly going away.

So my only concern is if I can get a board that can float me, I would like to get something around the 7'6" mark but smaller is welcome as I only have a 4 door Chevy Epica so I have to be able to transport it safely.

Thanks,

Chris :D

Sorry mate, 7'6" is waaaaay to small.

Get a roofrack and a 9'6" or bigger, 3" thick, 23 wide or greater, your going to need a log to start with.

Yeah^ I am an inch taller and a bit lighter, I can surf an 8'0 mal but I prefer a log any day.

If you want a wave, go with 9'+

Damn... that must be some freezing place to surf... At least you won't have to fight with the crowd.
