I just turned my screen resolution right down and can see your problem.
How annoying for you.....

I have signed over the banner management to an advertising company and the most effective banner placement (read $$$ ) is this leaderboard header size.
When I have got some more time I will look at perhaps swapping the menus on the left hand side over which should resolve the problem or maybe just moving the banner down below the header.
I should really make sure that the forum posts are viewable at a minimum of 800x600 although less than 5% of the visitors have it set that low.

Ok, I have redone the layout for you Phil. I hope that it should be sufficient to solve your scrolling problem. Let me know if it is ok.

wow what a shock. but i have to say having the menu on the right makes it a more natural feel.. because we read left to right so it almost feels like theres more room there! sweet!

Gabe have you thought about doing a horizontal menu layout? it would take up a significantly less amount of room.

ahh but then again with the banners on the sides/recent topics section it doesn't matter because either way they are taking up that space.

I feel the opposite, I am a menu on the left man myself

I am going to stop tinkering with the layout at the moment as long as everyone can see it alright. I will be changing to the new version of the forum software at some point so will think about it then.
A horizontal lay out is a good idea, or perhaps a bigger banner area at the top to put links into. Not sure yet.

^^i didn't mean the menu on the right feels more natural.. i meant the content of what you primarily read (forum posts) being aligned to the left feels more natural just because we read from that side to the right.. i dunno im weird.

the only thing I ever cared about getting on this site that you didn't do was the quick reply! you set that in place and after that I was happy as a .. uh.. something thats usually looked at as a happy thing.. thats what!

either way to me the site is perfect. I just have my stupid web developer thoughts here n there that kick in.
