Snap on surfboard!

Hey, I can actually do a few things on my surfboard now, but I still can't snap! I can do frontside floater, cutback, and slash. I can also pump. However, whenever I try to do a snap, the wave eithier goes through me or the board gets too far away from me and I fall... Any suggestions?

You are probably not hitting the lip, it sounds like you are going out onto the face and trying it. Either hit the wave where it is about to break or if it's mushy and spilling hit the wash.
