How far should my feet be spread apart?

I've noticed watching videos of pro surfers, the distance between the two foots is fairly spaced apart. On the other hand, my stance is not so spread.

Should I train myself to spread my feet apart further?

I'm riding a 7"2 shortboard and started 2 months ago.

Since surfers come in all shapes and sizes the positioning of your feet should one that enables you to do what you want to do easily. Do what you feel works for you, if it doesn't, do something different.

Just make sure that you don't delelop a poo stance - that's the most important thing :wink:
