yes. england not that warm in summer and i surfed new years day this year. there werent even decent waves. it was soo cold like howling offshore winds blowing spray at you and i dont even have a good wetsuit, its like a 6 year ols summer suit full of holes. brr. makes me shudder to think.

Last winter I remember getting to the beach, and it looked reasonable, about 2-3ft but messy cause of the onshores. The tide was on the push so I figured it should get better, but it didnt. The winds totally picked up and blew away all the surf, you didnt even need to paddle for waves come the end, cause the wind was so strong. Im just glad it wasnt OFFshore, we'd have been way out in the atlantic by then!
Anyway, there was no point in staying in so we hauled ourselves out, by which time it was obviously raining  and had to sit on a bench with no protection against the elements apart from a cold, damp winter suit, boots and gloves, for just over an hour waiting for our lift to arrive. The joys of winter eh! Damn I wish I could drive...

Being at uni in Bangor means having to deal withthe cold irish sea... ok so its not as cold as scotland but its still bloody cold!
After a winter in North Wales I returned for the championships in Cornwal in march and everyoen there was in caps, gloves etc. Cause i'd got used to the cold north it was like being in tropical waters! off came the hat and gloves and thermal rashy! tis bliss. :p
