Would like advice

I've always had a love for surfing, but was never able to do it. I'm just starting to get into the actual sport but i'm worried it may be too late for me? I'm 17, what is your guy's advice? My goal is to become somewhat good, not the world tour status but to maybe land some sponsors eventually. Thanks

Never too old to start surfing! However, getting to comp level I have no idea... and never will.

Most of my buddies surf, so I go out with them a lot. It seems hopeless compared to groms who have been surfing since they were 6 and I'm just starting now and their already incredible at my age. ya know?
