it means "by the way" and as far as i know surfers arent the only ones that use it. it's kind of like "lol" and crap like dat

It's unfortunately part of the wonderful SMS text messaging & Internet language that seems to have sprung up where people abbr. words because they can't be bothered to type them properly.

This is what results in some messages on this board being almost impossible to read!!

It's things like

BTW - By the way
OMG - oh my god
LOL - Laughing out loud
ROFL - 'rolling on the floor laughing'

I don't like it and think we should all petition against it.
