How do I remove Suncure from my hands?

I got suncure on my fingertips and I've gotten some off through hardcore scrubbing but anything else to make it come off faster?

I've worked with resin a fair amount making canoes and repairing boats. If you've left it to cure on your hands, it won't come off. The only thinner that could possibly help is acetone, and you don't really want to expose your hands to that for more than a couple of seconds as its pretty vicious stuff. Just leave it a day or two and it will go.

A quick warning to people. Acetone is one of the most powerful solvents you can buy. If you use it on your hands too much you will end up looking like a leper!! Acetone will only remove resin before it cures or if it is still 'green' (if you are lucky!). Once resin has set, it is a plastic. Given that acetone is often sold in plastic bottles, this will explain why it is unlikely to work! Nail polish remover works as it is a dilute form of acetone anyway, so if acetone has not worked, don't bother with nail polish remover and vice versa. If you are really desperate, go to a chandlers that stocks blakes boat paints and ask for the thinner for two pot epoxy paint (I think it's thinners number 2?). It is more lethal than acetone, but still will not work once the resin has cured.
As i said before, if you leave the resin on your hands, it will more than likely be gone in a couple of days as you shed your skin naturally anyway!

DON'T just scrub your skin off with acetone. You WILL develop a skin condition.

The resin will wear off surprisingly quickly with normal use of your hands.

Okay guys, don't know if this was just coincidence and it was already to get off, but I was drunk and looked at my Suncured hands and decided to just try something and put toothpaste (Colgate whitenening strips - mint) on my hands and scrub away with a lufa (sp). It actually all came off.

Hmmmmm... I guess i forgot to mention that sandpaper also works!

Toothpaste is a mild abrasive, you can use it to buff out scratches on things. Sandpaper, files & blowtorch would also work...

Other wise, school will be a pain in the ass without brain cells! Seriously, I could tell a huge difference after the summer I started working with fiberglass, where I didn't wear a respirator for a while.

rub your hands in the sand on the beach after doing a repair before the resin goes off. It's wot I do. works a treat, and if you've seen my other posts, I'm a musician playing bass guitar for a living, so i kinda need my fingers in working order.
