yea babyboarder what the hell were you growing brussell sprouts for? I side with libby and say opium was a good excape mistake whatever.

I thought that was illegal to grow anyway...

Coconut oil can be very expensive but their 750 ml bottles sell (retail) here for only about NZ$4, which is super cheap. It is cold pressed oil too.
Their email is hard to find but it is there.

BTW it is legal to grow opium poppies over here, just illegal to use them. (You are allowed to look at them though).

Hmmmmm, when good posts go bad! To the original poster, oceangrrl, I use vichy spf 20. I got it coz I was told that Mexoryl which is in this cream is proven to prevent cancer. In fact this product is meant to be so good, that its been taken off the market in the U.S. (go figure!) I believe they still sell vichy over there but without the Mexoryl

Which would make this fairly unfortunate for you over there. I too seem to get break outs on my face after surf. The chemist reccommended this product to me to prevent this also as its a moisturising cream too. I used to use an oil (P20) Must look out for cocunut oil stuff.
P.s I'm far from a scientist just reccommending something to a friend

Hi, Im new to this board... but as I have been searching for a sun cream that works for me and finally have I wanted to share!

I have ever since I remember had problems as soon as the weather gets good... I don't burn (was never able to be out in it long enough) But I get this horrible prickly heat rash, on all exposed skin no matter what cream I used.

But I have come across this product called P20, you apply it 90 mins before sun exposure on clean dry skin... and its great, I actually took my children to a fate yesterday and stayed all afternoon! Its a one application oil that binds to your body so you can swim towel dry etc without the worry of not being protected.

You may allready know of this, but better to be told twice than not at all!

Quicksilver regular surfing suncream.
Let it sink in.
Then Quicksilver zinc cream (skin tone).

Had too many friends get malanomas removed.

I got scorched yesterday, and applied SPF 45 3 times...

it was some coppertone stuff, but it was pretty old.

So I believe sunscreen DOES lose it's usefulness after a while.

Some stuff called bullfrog or something is suposively good. Guys in the keys who are fishing guides live by it, that's definately saying something.

Unfortunately sunscreen does have an expiration date. One of my friends used an expired sunscreen once and was literally purple the next day, and for several weeks after. Bullfrog is okay, it starts out making your skin feel oily, but it ends up drying it out.
Always remember to apply the sunscreen at least 15 minutes before going outside.

Sometimes on the bottle it will actually have the expiration date on it somewhere, other times it's not on there, you have to remember when you bought it, I wouldn't recommend using anything that is over a year old, or you may look like this: :oops:

haha, dude, im pretty white too. in fact, higher spfs and i still get burned. for some reason the coppertone brand spf 8 just works well. you get some color but not the painful sunburn that you would expect. im sure its still not very good though

check out sunscreencalifornia.com. they have waterproof sunscreens (8 hour)and usually have some sort of promotion going on and they include samples
