help on chosing my first board

I am a total begginer ( i cant yet stand) in surfing i am very close to buying my first board. Im looking at a second hand Gulf Stream 7 4' i just need to know one thing, is it vital to have a rounded nose on the board for a begginer? because this board has a pointed nose but has a lot of body to it and a wide tail.

my funboard has a pointy nose and i dont see any problem in learning on it...
if it is a chunky board it will be fine.
