Michael Peterson dies of heart attack at 59

Michael Peterson, three-time winner of the Bells Beach Easter surfing classic and one of Australia's greatest surfers, has died at the age of 59 after a heart attack.

Peterson will be remembered for being virtually unbeatable in competition in the early 1970s and for providing the defining image of the iconic surfing movie, Morning of the Earth, in 1971.
