Need a surfing term

Hey, is there a surfing term used to describe the water just beyond a wave? Like if I see a great wave but am curious whether there is a better one just after it, is there a term to describe that?

Is there a term used to describe the water waaaay out beyond the waves?

Watching Teahupoo video the other day I heard the word, strangely enough it didn't matter who was in the position of being caught inside and seeing the next monster set outside the wave you're about encounter, but they all said it in Polynesian.

The term is "outside" and means further out beyond where the breaking waves are or beyond where you are sitting. You may hear guys yell "outside" when they want their friends to know that their is a wave or a set of waves coming.
