What music gets you in the mood for a go out?

I like listening to some Jack Johnson before i go out. Gets me into a mellow mood, lets me concentrate more while im out on the wave!

If I'm heading down for a session usually something fairly heavy like RATM, early Smashing Pumpkins, that kind of thing. If I'm watching other riders on the headland with my headphones on I find Sebastien Tellier's La Ritournelle to be about the most graceful piece of music to watch others. Boards of Canada if the rain is coming down hard.

No one style does, and I honestly don't need it to get pumped if the surf looks good

But in general I am a metalhead. I like Leper Lord, Gwar, Tool, older Marilyn Manson, Dysfigure, Pain!, Older NIN, black Sabbath, amongst many others. I also like psychobilly, rock in general, new age, romantic, and fun music too. All those styles can get me pumped in general. New Age though really seems to have the mood for me to want to be relaxed at a beach or ocean

Depends on the mood of myself and the waves. Shitty waves- Punk, Rock, Techno.
Big waves- something mellow.
Good waves- does'nt matter!

Seems like we have the metal crowd or the mellow crowd here. Personally I like 'em both. I like Metallica's black album or any Rush before a session, and Jack Johnson, Neil Halsted, jazz (Miles Davis or Grant Green) or old big band (Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman) after a session.
