surfboard: BECKER any good?

i dont know if it's a good brand or anything. ive been offered an 8 foot becker longboard w/ wetsuit for 300. good deal?

That's a deal, if both are in good shape. The board should be one that "fits" your skill level and body weight. No use in getting a board designed for an experienced surfer if you don't have those skills yet. Otherwise, you could get discouraged and blame yourself rather than your equipment.

Just noticed you say its an 8 footer. That will probably do for a beginner.

my boyfriend uses a 9'2 becker and he loves it.. he loves becker... but dont get one to start off with. im getting an 8'4 softop (the actual brand) friday night to start out with.. dont get a really nice board to start off with, get one later on if u still like surfing and get a lot better.. thats all i have to say:)
