Esoncar does has a point. It's not impossible to learn on a short board. But one of those boards is a gun which won't be easy to turn on, let alone cut back on. The other is a shortboard shape that's quite big. I mean, sure, if you're a bigger guy and you need it why not? But it's just more fun to have a board that you can leanr on, turn on and burn on for a couple of years.
