Hey all, an Australian surf-report website (coastalwatch.com.au) is running a photo comp.

I've entered it, and would dearly love your votes, but I also want to let everyone know that it's an open competition, so feel free to enter yourself too.

My shots are:

Nice X 2, alternative title for the first shot. Can I wait for the rinse cycle?
Like the light halo around the pool!
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun!

Image one looks like someone's gone a little crazy with the bubble bath.
Love image two.

Cheers for the compliments - and Jaffa, yep, he got the rinse cycle about 3 times in a row, but he just had the spin cycle a moment before!

If you're interested in the 2nd shot, settings were - tripod, 50mm lense, ISO 100, f/4 and I set the exposure to 'bulb' mode and triggered it using a remote shutter button. I think the exposure ended up being about 3min, by the time there was a good flash of lightning. The halo effect around the pool was waves crashing into the pool wall under the light of a streetlight just out of shot behind the pool.

The atmosphere that long exposure low light shots can give is often a neglected art for most shooters.
Just a little more learning and like all thing even remotely to do with surfing, repeat the practice.
again nice shots.
