Escaping the UK winter in search of waves....

hi - I am looking at leaving these shores next Jan for 2-3 months surfing somewhere in the world. I am still pretty inexperienced but hoping to improve over the summer.

I first surfed in NZ and then East Coast Australia so not sure if I want to go back there.

Looking for somewhere fairly cheap to live, where I can do other things and where there is a friendly surf community. I work over the web so no worries with employment.

Any ideas where to go - have considered Bali, Indo, Central America...

Would anyone like to join me as well?
