Need help finding surf in America or Central America

Hi,

here's my situation.
I'm in the Samoa Islands right now in vacations for 4 months.
I didn't come here for surf but i was expecting a little bit of surf though !
At my big surprise, there's no surf here ! At least i didn't find any yet, because the waves are too far away from the beach and they break on corals ..
So i'm planning to go somewhere else for two months to surf.
I'm going back in Los Angeles on June 20th and from there i'd like to go somewhere close to surf. By close i mean anywhere in America below the US and higher than Chile !
I'm looking for a place where there are nice and simple waves, since i still gotta learn a lot ! Moreover, I'd need a place where living is cheap, especially for lodging and food.
I was reading about the barbados and the surf seems perfect there; constant all year long with perfect weather, i'm looking exactly for that !
However i don't think it's cheap over there although if i think there's some spots you can live for cheap..

Please help me !
Thanks !
