Surfing in Vietnam, Thailand region

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a trip together to Vietnam and/or Thailand, Cambodia general region for this coming April.
Has anyone here surfed in this region, if so a few tips would be great.

is april a good time to go?
Renting boards at beachs - we'll be travelling by bike so wont have our own boards - is renting boards, wetsuits generally possible?
Are there better spots in that region?
any tips on good spots for beginners/intermediates would be great.

Well hello. If you look at the swell on magic sea weed for South EAST ASIA, then you wil see that vietnam has some swell right now, but thailand doesn'. Try dropping down this way in like june/july. In phuket we get some nice waves and no wet suit needed, board rental from the beaches, and lovely weather!
