Concerning camping and surfing on Oahu

Im looking for a place were i can rent a board, have small waves were i can learn surfing, and camp legally. Any suggestions apart from Waikiki?

you can camp lots of places with a permit, but i doubt they check anyway. i wouldnt recomend it though, espetually if youre white. the locals are usually nice but can be rough. this is from a long time ago i see but if youre really interested in doing it i can find some info for you, you can email me at tboesch@hawaii.edu
