Australia Study Abroad

Postby Hawaianhamster » Sun Jun 12, 2011 12:28 am

Hi everybody, I'm going to take a break and look into Australian Universities to go to. One of the main factors in choosing which schools is whether it is situated near a great surf spot and nearest to the equator because I'm secretly afraid of the cold. My current top two choices is University of Queensland in Brisbane and Griffith University on the Gold Coast.

I'm currently leaning on University of Queensland mainly because it seems to have a more set system of residential colleges and isn't such a tourist spot in comparison to Griffith (translates to hopefully saving money overall in living expenses).

Can any of you guys with experience in these two areas give input on the surfing conditions in these two places, any recommendations (doesn't have to be surfing really), and/or recommendations to other universities?

Thanks!
Jordan

UQL is nowhere near the surf.
Try U of goldcoast, sydney, newcastle, NSW or wollongong.

i suggest you do a google earth search for where the campuses are in relation to the beaches.
Depending on your course you may be able to do it at an outlying campus near a beach.
Queensland you and 256,725.5 surfers can share the warm water at each of the breaks on the gold coast it's quite an international community.
Brazilians, Japanese, yummy Euro girls, the list goes on, Waikiki on viagra
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun!
