North Island New Zealand

Does anyone know any good lefts on the eastern (Pacific Ocean) side of the North Island of New Zealand. I'll be traveling there with a friend (who doesn't surf) and have only 1 day to set aside for surfing (Monday, November 1st). I'd really love and appreciate some suggestions

Boy the east coast of the north island. HMMMMMM. can have flat days longer than one day, pray for lucky co-incidence. Hey you can go away to a surf area for weeks and score nothing. A little more detail of where you plan to be and maybe there can be some advice for you, lefts rights what do you want, I can tell you where to go start sacrificing to the Polynesian surf gods now and they might co-operate down that way
