Going to Bali 03/04/10 - 03/15/10

Hi everyone,

I will be going to Bali in a few days. I have never been so really looking forward to it! If anyone will be there around this time I am looking forward to surfing with you and downing a few drinks, as I am going there solo.

My main question, for anyone who has been there before: where are the best surf spots are at this time of the year? From what I understand, the winds come from the East, so all the traditional Bali spots on the East coast get onshore winds, while the West coast gets the offshore. Any good spots pple wanna share with me?

Also any tips on cheap places to stay, eat and buy a board (i can't bring mine with me unfortunately) are greatly appreciated!

thx

It will still be wet season so your best be is to head to the west coast theres loads of spots to chose from, my fave wave the whole time i was out there was karamas, you would have to get a bemo or hire a bike to get to it, the best thing to do would be to stay at sanur as its only a short drive from there. its the perfect right hander.

get there early to avoid the croweds.

Thanks for the response Phil. I'm kinda confused though, you say go to the West Coast but then you indicate a break that's on the East side of the Island. Did you mean East? Because that's where most pple have told me to go to catch some offshore winds.

Pretty sure the better swells will be better on the East side of Bali in March. Should be great fun, best thing to do is ask around when you arrive.
