Surfing in Biarritz: Advice needed

Hi, I am going to Biarritz in a week's time and was wondering if anyone has any advice on which spots to avoid, or which ones are the best ones. I've only surfed once before (for a day) so I'm only a beginner! Will it be dangerous to go without joining a class? Thank you!
