Biggest pain/problems you face when planning a surf trip?

I'm doing a little research on making surf trip planning easier.
What takes up most of your planning time ?

Thanks.

1. Packing a board - how to?
2. Airlines accepting boards and sizes. Extra charges associated with boards if any.
3. Places and their seasons. A cool map with colour coding by season/months to go would be neat.

Because we live in the UK the biggest obstacle of any surf trip is finding somewhere that is pumping at the time. No planning in advance here, grab a wettie and get there while the goings good :-D
