Getting a new board

Getting a new board

Postby Guest » Thu Jun 17, 2004 4:08 am

I've just learned surfing half a year ago and it's a blast. I can stand up and steer a bit. But soon I want to use a different board than my 6'8 funboard (go shorter). Do you think that it may be too soon? If not, what kind of board would you suggest for the typical sucky Floridian waves?

well its a weird situation cause bigger the wave shorter the board but florida has some good waves, try 6'5 you could get a Pointy nose, i accully like them better. I'm a begginer at surfing but i use pointy and i get along just fine. Funboards suck. :D No really if your confident you can go a bit shorter, 6'6 would be good, go too short and pointy you eat sand. Go to NEVSurfboards.com to get one CUSTOM built. Pretty damn sweet!!! Do yourself a favor and make sure its at least 19 inches wide or over so you wont have too much trouble, 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 thick.

Have Fun,
