Roger Cooper or Osprey OSX mini mal?????????

Postby mart8235 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 7:46 pm

Hi guys, I'm getting back into surfing after a few years, I'm 5'10'' and about 15 stone.
I'm looking at 2 boards, a Roger Cooper 7'6'' x 21 3/4'' x 2 5/8'' and a Osprey OSX 7'6'' x 21 1/2'' x 2 3/4''.
what do i go for? (if any).
I've found a lot of info on Roger Cooper, he's a good shaper and he's local to me. I know nothing about the Osprey OSX, maybe that answers my question?
what do you guys think?

Uh how fit are you & how decent did you surf... there pretty small boards for a starter (of your size).

Why not call in and talk to Roger, he can recommend a board to suit your build and ability. Sorry don't know anything about the Osprey board.

I could surf OK (not great just OK) but its been a long time since i've been in the water. The last board I had was a 6'7 safari spider, it was hard to catch waves on but I was OK once i got up on it. I'm not all that fit anymore, I've turned into somthing of a chuncky monkey over the last few years! I'm working on that though, hence the desire to get back in the water.
The thought of a longer board fills me with dread, what sort of board would you recomend?
