Best Board Make to get for a NEWBIE

Hiya after spending many years down cornwall body boarding i've finally decided to start surfing, i can stand up on a foam board etc, and wanted to buy a cheapish epoxy board to start on around the 7'6 mark, i've found 4 boards that all look very nice and around simular price range,

But was wondering what would be the best choice for build quality etc

the first choice is a 7'6 Epoxy SUNRIDE surfboard
the second is a 7'6 Epoxy BOARDOM surfboard
the third is a 7'6 Epoxy TAKEOFF surfboard
the forth being a Nigel simmons 7'4 surfboard

Also anyother info on what to look out for when buying a board etc,

Wouldn't it be funny to find out that all 3 epoxy boards are made in the same manufacturing facility?

Circle One epoxy's are nice boards. I have the 7'10 & 6'8 Heritage boards. The 7'10 is nice for summer and smaller waves, and turns well. Can't comment on the other makes...but there's a thread here somewhere about Take Off's...not good comments!

Got to agree with myate, av got a Circle 1 epoxy 6 8 and for my first short board seems good quality not quite as lite as a PU but a lot more ding / damage resistant,

Have a look at the mini mall range wish i had b4 i bought me Bic

So are any of the above good or not are they all roughly the same since they're made in the same factory so are they good or bad?

Circle one looks good trying to find some boards for sale but have seen nice ones of the above so was wondering how good they where,

Anymore ideas guys, also would a 7'6 be ok for me im 6'2" and weigh around 13stone (180pounds) i can stand up on a 7'6 foamie, cheers

I would probably go a bit longer, I'm 6'2 and 14st I struggled learning on a 8ft epoxy minimal, found it much easier now I have a longboard.

My advice would be get something secondhand for a good price, so you can get your money back (Bic or NSP seem to be in demand most of the time). I went down the cheap epoxy route and suspect if I went to sell it I would be more out of pocket.

If you get into it you will probably want to go shorter or longer 9+ and then want a new board.

I think you will find the foamy is more boyant, so the same length may not be so easy. Try before you buy if you can, even if you have to rent a couple of different boards.
Making you life difficult just gets frustrating.

have a 7'2" take off. really durable for an epoxy board. cracked mine off a load of rocks last week and not a ding or a dent anywhere. not recommending carelessness tho.

If you plan on surfing for more than a summer or two, spend the extra cash and get a decent board. You won't regret it.

a few weeks ago i wished i had spent a bit more on my first board and got a custom mini mal or sumthing better,

then i tuck the wax off my BIC for the first time and revealed loads on pressure marks from nees elbows etc on the deck.

If this had of been a custome PU et would proberly be dinged cracked etc and need repair

as some one else said if you go for a second hand BIC NSP u will be able to sell it what you paid for it
