Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to this site and to the world of surfing. I am a senior in high school and Hawai'i BOE standards require for us to complete senior project in order to graduate with honors. For mine, I picked a personal interest kinda thing so I went with surfing. I need help in developing a research topic/ thesis. While doing the paper, I will have the opportunity to learn how to surf. I still need to contact people to do that but I have no idea in what I'm going to write about. Any help/ suggestions would be highly appreciated

And to add on, I don't want this to be a temporary thing. Once I learn how to surf and stuff, I'd like to continue on with it

Hi rfiesta,75. Firstly welcome in your quest to surf and for honours. This site has the full range of the human condition on board (pun intended), you could probably research the entire demographic of surfing in all its dominions Nova Scotia to the UK and the strange geopolitical efforts of surfers in Crete and Israel.
Figure out what you want and read about it here but don't don't under any circumstance put a survey especially not a survey monkey survey.
Tell us your adventures and we will have strange and sometime wondrous answers. Will they be the truth? Surf and you shall.
Don't forget, do your interviews on the beach face to face, take happy snaps and get in the water.
Oh and be prepared to be addicted :lol:

BTW I override the spell check to use English English so don't worry I then pour a liberal dose of weird Australian thoughts and humour, so enjoy the ride. :lol:

I am a little curious though, you picked surfing as a personal interest, you're in your senior year and you're not surfing yet.
So I ask the question "How come?" :?:
