new board for next trip?

new board for next trip?

Postby rood » Mon Jun 19, 2006 11:46 am

hey everybody,
I'm going on a surf trip to Panama this summer and I'm debating whether or not I should buy a new board to take with me. I surf a 6'3'' fish which is an awesome board for here (i live in holland), but it's wide and thick and maybe not very suitable for the fast and hollow reef breaks in Panama. Anyone, any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not sure on prices over there but it may be worthwhile buying a new board out there rather then doing it at home...

true that, it's just that I don't want to take the chance to miss the first couple of days while I'm there looking for the perfect board. I might do that though, but still, what kind of board should I get for a trip like this?

I've never been, but I here they get "real" waves there...

I'd check out more of a traditional shortboard (non-fish) w/ a rounded pintail.
