I just picked up a new CI Flyer as well. 6'3" 19.5" 2.5". Its my first new board, I learned on a 6'6" 19 3/4" 2 9/16" and this board is sweeet! I am very pleased and lovin it so far.

Nice board! I could never surf on a board that short tho, my 6"10 funboard seems short to me lol, i supose its all with expirience and skill that you can surf on shorter and shorter boards

Well, I wouldn't say never. I started surfing this past August on a used 6'6" 19 3/4" 2 9/16" shortboard and it was frustrating as all hell for a good couple months. In the past month or two I have been going 3-5 times per week in the mornings and all of a sudden its clicked for me. I broke my used board on the day of the Clark Foam scare and ended up buying the 6'3" flyer. While it is shorter, it definately is better in every way. It seems to glide, float, paddle whatever you want to call it, better than other boards and it definately is quicker and more responsive than my old board. You should give it a try, you may be surprised.. after all I am still very much a beginner. I am 5'10 145lbs for what its worth.

im same height and weight basically. 6"10 is good for me, never tried shorter, something like a 6"3 would get me frustrated for months i think, ill eventually move down shorter i supose - but im not really aiming to go as short as possible - i just want the best board for the everyday surf. An all rounder board.

Ditch those G-AM fins...too stiff. If you don't believe me, start with the center fin. Those fins are for boosting ala Timmy...I know I got suckered into them too, but they are way too stiff...wont release.

a got that surf for 50$australian I think its it was a deal...but I did surf just 2 times so I'm not even a biginner...do you thik I can do something with that? I'am canadian and I just arrived in Sydney 2 mounths ago. I had 1 surfing lesson until now. should I try to learn with that board?

So you think I should persevered...I did wind surfing for a while, I know its not the same thing but it wont be a bad think.

Because I though about sale it and buy something more biginner...!?!?

No. That board is a rounded pintail, built for very advanced surfer in powerful waves. Sell it and get a mini mal or something similar.
Of course you probs could learn on it, eventually, but why make things more difficult for yourself?

Windsurfing probs will help a bit, the general balance and being in the water alot aspects. I come from a windsurfing background. But at the end of the day its pretty different, even wave sailing.
I started surfing cos I used to windsurf alot in waves and often the wind didn't blow but the waves were good so I took surfing up. Eventually I got burnt out from windsurfing and relished the simplicity of surfing. I gave up windsurfing in about 1992 and haven't really looked back, 'cept for the odd go on a hire board about once every few yrs!
Anyway you're deffo in the right place to take up surfing, good luck and enjoy!
